Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Simon and I’m a Software Engineer at Google. Currently I’m living in Zurich, Switzerland. I grew up on a small farm in Austria and also lived in Stockholm, Sweden for a while. On my blog, I mostly talk about Android, coding, tech & more.

Professional life

August 2022 - present

In August of 2022, I moved to Zurich to start a new position at Google. I'm working on the core Android experience of the Gemini Android app.

March 2021 - July 2022

In February of 2021, I moved to Stockholm to start a new adventure at Spotify. I was part of the performance squad and we mostly worked on things related to the performance of Spotify's mobile apps.

August 2017 - February 2021

Right after leaving high school, I interned at adidas / Runtastic. After completing my internship (and a short break to finish my civil service), I joined full time as an Android Platform Engineer. I was part of the Core Services team, where I worked mostly on the build system, CI and core libraries for all the Android apps at adidas / Runtastic.

Education

September 2017 - June 2020

After graduating from high school, I enrolled at the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg to get my Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering. I pursued this degree while working full time at adidas / Runtastic and graduated in June of 2020.

September 2012 - June 2017

I started my formal Computer Science education at the higher technical college (a type of Austrian high school) in Leonding. I graduated from this school in June 2017 with my Matura.
